Located in the heart of Dresden, Bistro Yukito is a charming sushi restaurant that brings an authentic taste of Japan to Behrischstraße. This cozy basement spot might be intimate in size, but it is packed with genuine flavors and a warm atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city.
Bistro Yukito’s menu celebrates the essence of traditional Japanese cuisine, offering an array of meticulously prepared sushi, fresh sashimi, and comforting hot dishes. Highlights include their exquisite Kaisenmaki, praised for its authentic quality and precision, as well as their flavorful, handmade-style udon noodles which deliver a delightful, soothing broth experience. Miso soup here is a particular crowd-pleaser, described as deeply satisfying with the right balance of warmth and umami, perfect for both a light starter or a comforting bite during colder days.
The sushi at Bistro Yukito stands out notably thanks to just-right sushi rice — soft, mild, and expertly seasoned — which complements the fresh, high-quality fish served. Tempura and karaage offer a delicious contrast by being perfectly crispy and juicy without feeling greasy, emphasizing the kitchen’s attention to detail and commitment to authentic Japanese flavors.
Beyond the food, the restaurant’s ambiance contributes significantly to the overall experience. The space, while modest and nestled in a basement, is kept comfortable with a thoughtful air conditioning system that maintains a pleasant atmosphere even in summer. The décor is simple but inviting, creating a no-frills environment where the focus remains on the food and genuine service. The most authentic Japanese restaurant that I have ever been outside of Japan. The sushi is amazing and other hot dishes are really authentic as well!

Fairly authentic Japanese food - I am not sure about some sauces on some meals; that looks to me more like an Asian fusion style. The place itself is a bit small, which is fine, but lacks atmosphere. Would be nice to steer the ablative to more izakaya style. Anyhow, by far the best Japanese restaurant in Dresden.

I am a big fan of Miso soup, they have this soup and it tastes very good. Sushi is also very tasty. The restaurant is not big and it is in basement, but the air quality is not bad, there is medium portable air conditioner indoors, so it’s also not very warm in summer. What we ordered (we are 2 adults, it costs 52€ in total including tips) 1. Miso Suppe * 1 2. Large Teller * 1 3. Veggie Teller * 1 4. Sapporo Bier * 1 5. Alkoholfrei Bier * 1

Very authentic Japanese restaurant! Can tell the slight difference of the sushi rice here comparing to it in some other Asian restaurants. Very soft and mild taste. And the udon is impressive :) It tastes like handmade udon noodles for me. And the soup is flavourful. Tempura is good and the Karaage is juicy and not oily at all. We are satisfied and would come again to try something else xD

Quality of the food has improved over the last year. Now you get good value for your money. They often have specials that are recommended .. look into facebook they announce it there sometimes. Since the place is very small I strongly recommend to book your table in advance.
